Typical Engagements

Engagement models with clear scope and pricing

From a single paid consultation to a milestone-based custom project, engagement formats and pricing are published up front.

Discovery and Assessment

Scoped in a written assessment agreement

A structured assessment when the problem, current system, risk, or solution path needs to be understood before implementation is scoped.

Format
Structured assessment with a written deliverable
Best for
  • Deciding whether to modernize, replace, or extend an existing system
  • Documenting an architecture or workflow before making changes
  • Identifying which processes are worth automating first

Fixed-Scope Project

Scoped per proposal

A defined deliverable with a written proposal, agreed milestones, and clear acceptance.

Format
Written proposal, service agreement, milestone billing
Best for
  • Well-understood work with a clear end state
  • Budget approval processes that require a bounded number
  • First engagements that both sides want bounded in scope

Phased Delivery

Scoped by phase

Large or uncertain initiatives divided into controlled phases with review before each new commitment.

Format
Roadmap-driven, one phase at a time
Best for
  • Larger initiatives that benefit from staged approval
  • Programs where scope should be refined as phases complete
  • Work spanning multiple areas of the organization

Ongoing Engineering Partnership

Written recurring agreement

A continuous engineering relationship for improvements, integrations, reporting, automation, and technical guidance.

Format
Recurring engagement with a prioritized backlog
Best for
  • Teams without dedicated in-house engineering capacity
  • Product areas that need continuous iteration
  • Programs that value a stable engineering relationship

Modernization and Support Retainer

Written retainer agreement

A recurring retainer for maintenance, dependency updates, stabilization, and incremental modernization of an existing application.

Format
Retainer with maintenance and modernization scope
Best for
  • Applications that need steady dependency and security updates
  • Older systems undergoing incremental modernization
  • Teams that want a dependable technical contact for an existing system

Fixed-Scope Services

Published products and a separate technical consultation

Northbridge publishes six fixed-scope products on the Products page, starting at $49. The separate $150 Technical Consultation is a 60-minute working session followed by a written summary and is requested through the Schedule a Consultation page.

Workflow Quick Scan ($49), Workflow Review ($149), Integration Readiness Assessment ($495), and Automation Blueprint ($995) may be purchased directly through secure online checkout. Focused Automation Implementation ($2,995) and Internal Operations Starter System ($4,995) require written fit and scope confirmation before invoicing. Requesting a Technical Consultation, proposal, or fit review does not create an order or collect payment; Northbridge confirms the next step and, where applicable, sends payment instructions.
