Clarify the integration before committing to development
Integrations often fail, stall, or cost far more than expected when work begins before the basic technical questions are answered. Before writing code, a team needs to confirm:
- Whether the relevant APIs or webhooks actually exist
- Which system owns each category of data
- What information must move between systems
- Authentication and permission requirements
- Data-format and field-mapping issues
- Operational dependencies between platforms
- Failure handling and recovery expectations
- Vendor, access, or documentation limitations
The Integration Readiness Assessment turns those open questions into a documented decision framework, so your team can decide how — or whether — to proceed on evidence rather than assumption.
This assessment is a good fit when
- A business wants to connect two or more existing systems.
- A proposed API integration has not yet been technically scoped.
- Teams are relying on manual re-entry or disconnected workflows.
- A vendor claims an integration is possible but key details remain unclear.
- The business needs a documented starting point before requesting implementation proposals.
- Internal stakeholders need a shared understanding of risks and dependencies.
This assessment is not
The $495 engagement does not include:
- Production software development
- Implementation or deployment
- Access to, or the cost of, paid third-party platforms
- Remediation of vendor limitations
- Penetration testing or a formal security audit
- Legal, regulatory, tax, or compliance certification
- Guaranteed approval by third-party vendors
- Unlimited systems or an open-ended consulting engagement
The canonical exclusions listed under “What is not included” on this page also apply in full.
What Northbridge reviews
The assessment is fixed in scope. Within one defined integration objective and up to four involved systems, Northbridge reviews:
- One defined integration objective
- Up to four relevant systems or platforms
- Available API and webhook documentation
- Proposed data flows between the systems
- Authentication and access requirements
- Ownership and direction of data
- Major technical dependencies
- Obvious implementation constraints
- Operational and failure-handling considerations
- Questions that must be resolved before implementation
What we need from you
Accurate findings depend on accurate inputs. Please be ready to provide:
- The business goal of the proposed integration
- Names and purposes of the systems involved
- Relevant vendor or API documentation
- Sample fields or non-sensitive workflow examples
- A description of the current process
- Known constraints and desired outcomes
- A business contact available for clarification
Please note: Do not submit passwords, secret keys, full customer datasets, payment-card data, health records, or other unnecessary sensitive information through the intake form.
What you receive
A written Integration Readiness Assessment, generally 6–8 pages, delivered electronically. It contains:
- An executive summary
- A current-state and proposed-flow overview
- Documented assumptions
- Key technical requirements
- Dependencies and constraints
- Risk findings
- Open questions that must be resolved
- A recommended implementation direction
- Practical next steps
- An included review call of up to 20 minutes
- One consolidated clarification round after the review call
The engagement does not produce source code, a configured integration, vendor approval, or a production deployment.
How the engagement works
- Purchase securely through online checkout.
- Complete the Northbridge intake form with your objective, systems, and documentation.
- Northbridge verifies the completed payment and reviews the submitted materials.
- Northbridge performs the fixed-scope assessment and prepares the written report.
- The report is delivered electronically, followed by the included review call and one consolidated clarification round.
A hosted-checkout reference or intake submission alone does not independently confirm payment. Northbridge verifies the completed payment before beginning the engagement.
Illustrative assessment scenario
A fictional service business uses a website intake form, a CRM, an accounting platform, and an internal spreadsheet. Customer information submitted on the website is re-entered by hand in each of the other systems, and the business wants that information to move with less manual entry.
In this scenario, Northbridge could assess:
- Whether APIs or webhooks are available for each platform
- Which application should be the system of record
- What data should synchronize between systems
- Whether synchronization should be one-way or two-way
- Authentication requirements for each connection
- Duplicate detection and error handling
- Platform limitations that affect the approach
- A sensible implementation sequence
Illustrative example only — not a completed client engagement or promise of feasibility.
